Ursina Tossi

URSina Tossi is a freelance artist, dancer, choreographer, director and author rooted in working class & queer feminism creating at the liminal area of intense physicality, spoken word & aesthetics of access. URSina's approach is transdisciplinary and collaborative, and her pieces invite the audience to come closer and be moved by powerful images, a unique and excessive dance virtuosity, and the emotional and erotic intelligence of the group's bodies. Since 2017, their works have been regularly produced and programmed at Kampnagel and Tanzfaktur Cologne. Their piece COSMICBODIES was nominated and HELL won the Cologne Dance Theater Prize 2024,while FUX received the Hamburg Children's Theater Prize. Most recently, DIE NASHÖRNER (The Rhinoceros) based on Eugène Ionesco was created at PARKAUE Berlin, GHOSTS at Stadttheater Gießen, and FÜHLER at Junges Schauspielhaus Hamburg. In 2025 URS founded SLiD – shared leadership in dance together with Antje Pfundtner and Jenny Beyer, the first association of three artists in Germany to share resources, knowledge, and work in dance. The book PHILOSOPHIE DES TANZENS edited by Maximilian Probst & URSina TOSSI was published by Mairisch Verlag 2025.
